מיומנויות מחקר (0431.4621)

The course provides a 'toolbox' for students in the zoology and ecology tracks as part of their training as future scientists. The course starts with a number of meetings focused on: preparation of scientific presentations and communication of science to scientists and laypersons, writing a CV, basic communication skills, effective time management, application for scholarships and funding.

As part of this course students are required to submit a written research proposal and present their research subject to members of the school of Zoology. Students receive feedbacks from other faculty members in the school of Zoology (other than their supervisors) and are exposed to the diverse studies and research methods in the field.

Attendance is compulsory.

Course requirements: submission of written research proposal and oral presentation.

 הקורס מתמקד בהענקת "ארגז-כלים" לתלמידי המסלול הזואולוגי והאקולוגי על מנת להכשיר אותם בצורה מיטבית כמדעני העתיד. בתחילת הסמסטר נעבור סדרת מפגשים בנושא הכנת מצגות ותקשורת המדע לקהל של מדענים וקהל חופשי, כתיבת קורות חיים, מיומנויות תקשורת בסיסיות, ניהול זמן יעיל, פנייה למלגות ומימון כספי ועוד.

 במסגרת הקורס הסטודנטים נדרשים להגיש הצעת מחקר כתובה, ולהציג את נושא המחקר שלהם בפני חברי המחלקה. הסטודנטים זוכים לקבלת משובים מחברי סגל נוספים במחלקה (שאינם המנחים), ונחשפים למגוון המחקרים ושיטות העבודה המקובלות בתחום.
