סילבוס:

הקורס יעסוק בניתוח מושגים מרכזיים בתחומים המארגנים את הדיון והמחקר הביולוגי – אבולוציה, ארגון, והתפתחות. בחמשת השבועות הראשונים, לאחר הקדמה כללית על פילוסופיה של הביולוגיה, תינתן סקירה היסטורית-פילוסופית שבמסגרתה נקרא טקסטים קלאסיים (אריסטו, קאנט, למרק, דרווין). בשבועות הבאים ועד סוף הקורס נערוך ניתוח של מושג התורשה (כולל מושג הגן); אדפטציה וברירה טבעית ברמות שונות; חוקים, מודלים ומנגנונים בביולוגיה; מושגי הפונקציה והמטרה בביולוגיה; מושג האורגניזם והאינדיבידואליות הביולוגית; מושג המין הביולוגי; ומושג האינפורמציה בביולוגיה.

לכל שעור ידרשו התלמידים לקרוא שני מאמרים בנושא השיעור, האחד נכתב על ידי ביולוג, השני על ידי פילוסוף. המאמרים יופיעו באתר הקורס.

הרכב ציון:

כתיבת עבודה מסכמת בהיקף של 3500-5000 מילים על אחד מנושאי הקורס המבוססת על 4 מאמרים לפחות.

בתלות במספר הסטודנטים יינתנו עבודות בית לקראת כל שיעור (סיכום חצי עמוד על שני המאמרים)

הקורס מוגבל ל 50 סטודנטים
